Analysis of Caesarian Section Rates Using Robson’s Ten Group Classification in a Tertiary Care Hospital

Background: Robson, proposed a new classification system, the Robson’s Ten Group Classification to allow critical analysis of assessing Caesarean section rate according characteristics pregnancy. Auditing Caesarian rates can be done using which in turns helps achieving uniform basis for comparison across centers and various countries. The objective was describe caesarean tertiary care hospital Dhaka Groups Classification.
 Methods: A retrospective study Community Medical College & Hospital, Dhaka, over period one year January 2018 December 2018. All cases LUCS during this were classified analyzed.
 Results: total number 757 deliveries conducted period. C-Section performed 550 patients, giving C-section 73%. group 5 highest contributors overall CS rate, contributing 28% all C-sections, followed by 2 4 combindly contributes 20% (13.4% 13.1% respectively) .The most common indications primary failure progress labour (12.5%), Fetal distress (12.4%), CPD (10.7%).
 Conclusions: identify analyze groups that contribute caesarian rate. This may help modify strategies interventions optimize rate.
